Michael Armstrong

Principal

Michael Armstrong formed Hamlin Capital Advisors in 2012 as a Principal. Previously, he worked for more than a decade as an investment banker for Raymond James, with a specific focus on raising tax-exempt debt capital for health care and long-term care providers. He was responsible for providing strategic advisory services, including the structuring and execution of complex bond and derivative transactions for his healthcare and long-term care clients. In addition, he obtained financing for clients across the credit spectrum, including start-up senior living facilities, start-up and replacement hospitals, and highly rated continuing care retirement centers and health systems. Prior to this role, Michael worked in the firm’s corporate finance group, where he was active in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and financial advisory assignments. Over the course of his career, he has structured more than $2.5 billion in bond financings, with the largest single financing over $1 billion.

Michael received an M.B.A. with honors from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia.
